When I got home from work today I was greeted by an e-mail from Mike Tate, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, asking me to take a survey. I was pleasantly surprised, as it seems somebody somewhere is listening to those of us out here in the blogosphere who have railed against the shortcomings of the DPW during the recall election.
There is a lot to be said positive about the state Democratic Party, as what they took on with relatively minimal help from the national party is incredible. But, many of us who are progressive feel that their shortcomings were one of the many reasons why Tom Barrett failed to win the election on June 5th, and why Democrats lost badly in 2010. This is a good first step at reaching out to those of us who want to have more input to how the party runs. Now, the ultimate test will be whether or not the data they collect is actually used and implemented, and not just collected doing lip-service to those of us who have things to say.
