MULS Poll & Comparing It To PPP

My post from this morning talked about Tommy Thompson's running behind Eric Hovde in the poll released yesterday by Public Policy Polling. However, today the Marquette University Law School has released it's own poll, still showing Thompson ahead, but Hovde clearly on the rise. You can read the entire poll at this link (and as always I recommend you do): https://law.marquette.edu/poll/

Craig Gilbert at the MJS also did his own write-up about comparing both polls in his blog, located at this link:  http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/162097175.html#!page=2&pageSize=10&sort=newestfirst . While the MULS poll shows Tommy ahead, I can't help but continue to tell you, he's not winning the Neo-Stalwart Primary. Charles Franklin is still a good pollster, despite what many liberals may think following polls released in May before the Governor Walker Recall Election. Yet, I can't help feel like something just isn't right with his numbers and am not always the most comfortable with how his methodology over-samples Southeastern Wisconsin. If there is one thing that the results of these two polls do conclude, at least to me, it's that this is still a very competitive race, and whomever wins will have a great deal of momentum built up against Tammy Baldwin.

Food for thought: Does anyone remember who won Northern Wisconsin during the 2010 Gubernatorial Primary? HINT: http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?fips=55&year=2010&f=0&off=5&elect=2
